Gems is a wonderful companion. She is a high-ranking horse, with a lot of influence on the others, and it couldn't have been a better mare. She is kind and willing, and loves to play with the fillies. My riders either loves her or hate her. She can be quie high-strung,and if you don't know her, she can seem like a real handful. I adore her, 'cause I know her. I feel it when she's getting wired, and can keep her under control. I have to admit that when I bought her I didn't have the greatest of belief, but how wrong can one person be?! Gems has become one of my alltime favourites! Not only was she a great showhorse, but she is also the sweetest girl to spend time with. she might not be so into all that grooming-stuff, but if you keep her buissy and let her have something to do at all times, she is a wonderful horse wich I really enjoy working with. And such a beauty! Gems has the most amazing conformation. There is hardly any flaws on her big, beautiful body, but the most explicit part of her must be her head. It's elegant and refined, and in her eyes you can see love, caring and wisdom of a spirit that have existed for many more years than her body. She cares for people she knows, and even though a little on the shy side, she will never refuse to say hello, or to geta snack from someone. This is also why we keep her turned out mid amongst the stables. Gems is very valuable to us, and we would never risk someone slipping her a treat that isn't good for her.

Gems hadn't been in many shows when I got her, probably because of her hot head. I have allways showed this mare myself, as I feel like I really get her. She did exceptionally in every disciplines she showed in, and was probably the best mare I will ever own! She brought home a ribbon from every show, and loved every minute of it. In the time I have been blessed with this amazing mare she has made me proud, and put Steady Acres on the map. She has earned a huge amount of champion titles, including 8 Show Champion titles. Her biggest accomplishment so far will have to be voted for Mare of The Month at POSB, THS and SAI.. I love showing her, as I allways know that someone in the crowd knows who she is. There is allways someone who have heard of her, or noticed her at shows. You feel so privilidged to watch her when she is flying effortlessly over fences as tall as yourself, or simply struttin' her stuff and flauting her muscles in the dressage arena.

Gems passes on all her good traits to her babies; Her will to work, and her beautiful conformation. Her scopey jumps, and learning-ability. She hasn't passed on her hot head, but I will breed er to very well manered stallions in the future. So far, I have to pet myself on the back for doing such an awesome job with finding the right boys, and I can only hope that one day I will get another Gems running around our paddocks.
